We are grateful for all the families for staying patient while we were exploring options for transportation.

After carefully exploring a variety of transportation options, we have made the difficult decision that Grande Prairie Technical Institute will not be offering student transportation for the 2026-27 school year.

The decision was not made lightly. After a thorough review, we determined that providing transportation is not financially feasible at this time for either the school or the families we serve.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are committed to reviewing transportation options again prior to the start of the 2027–28 school year and will share any updates if circumstances change.

Today is a day to celebrate the people, communities, and opportunities that make Canada such a special place to call home.

As we work toward opening our doors in September 2026, we are grateful for the support we have received from families, students, educators, businesses, and community members across the Grande Prairie region.

Canada was built by people who were willing to learn, build, create, innovate, and work together. Those same values continue to inspire the vision for GP Technical Institute.

If you have more than one child, you already know something important.

No two kids learn the same way.

One child may love sitting with a book for hours. Another may learn best when they can build it, create it, test it, or see it in action.

If every child learned the same way, education would be easy.

The reality is that every student has different strengths, interests, and goals.

That is one of the reasons GP Technical Institute was created.

Not because traditional schools are wrong. Not because one approach is better than another. Simply because some students thrive when learning is more hands-on, connected to the real world, and focused on applying knowledge in meaningful ways.

We believe families deserve options.
