Last week as we were applying our sunscreen, one of the children was expressing feelings about how aweful it was putting it on, especially around the face. It opened up conversations about what damages the sun can do to our skin and our health.
My best friend since we were 5 years old passed away from skin cancer caused by the sun. I openly spoke about what happened and the group asked some difficult questions which I answered (as simply as possible). After the conversation, there were no more fusses about applying sunscreen. ❤️
Yesterday marked 6 years of my friends death and I received a message that my classroom caterpillars have arrived. My friend is resting in peace and also watching over my little friends. 🦋😇
