Scholarship Opportunity:

The SkyAlyne Indigenous Scholarships program is designed to help break down barriers to higher education and support First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students pursuing careers connected to the FAcT program and the broader aerospace, aviation, and defence sectors. Through financial assistance for expenses such as tuition and/or living costs, the scholarships program aims to help students focus on building the skills and experiences needed to contribute to Canada’s future aviation and defence workforce. In line with FAcT program requirements, First Nations, Metis, or Inuit students from the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, in which the FAcT program sites are located, are prioritized; however, Indigenous students across Canada will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

To be considered for the SkyAlyne Indigenous Scholarships program, applicants must:
Identify as a First Nations, Metis, or Inuit person (with preference to those in Saskatchewan or Manitoba)
Demonstrate financial need in support of their educational goals
Be enrolled at a post-secondary institution
Be enrolled in a field of study aligned with the FAcT program, related to or supporting careers in aerospace, aviation or defence

Applicants may be enrolled in any post-secondary program of study at the certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree level that supports or contributes to FAcT operations. Program titles may vary by institution. Examples of eligible fields of study include, but are not limited to:
Commercial Pilot
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
Aviation Management
Aviation Operations
Instructional Design
Educational Technology

On Saturday, July 25th, Frog Lake Post-Secondary held our inaugural Post-Secondary Graduation Ceremony. We were honoured to have 15 of the 24 Post-Secondary graduates from our nation join us with their friends and families. Our goal was to celebrate the accomplishments of our nation members in the community, and we are extremely grateful for the support at the First Annual Frog Lake Post-Secondary Graduation Ceremony.

Congratulations to the lucky recipients of the Stacie Stanley-Waskewitch Memorial Grant, the George Saliwonczyk General Studies Grant, and the Connie Saliwonczyk Oil & Gas/Trades Grant.
