Culture week for our littles!
First we focused on Canada; where we live, our flag, national anthem, flag Colors and items that represent Canada 🇨🇦 they showed interest in the country we live in and soaked it all up!
This week’s visitor was the dental hygienist! Say “ahhh”! Tot’s were very well mannered with our guest and waited ever so patiently for their turn next.
Then we crafted traditional Métis/First Nation items such as a Tipi that First Nation people used for travelling and next some cute beaded moccasins that both Métis and First Nations people wear. The tot’s showed their creativity with this one!
Have a great long weekend!

Bugs!
The week started with matching bugs, catching bugs and Tots made ant homes at craft time
Next was painting our beautiful lady bugs using water color paint 🎨 so pretty! At circle we sang songs about caterpillars and butterflies 🦋 during craft time tot’s added ants 🐜 to their ant homes! After that we watered some wriggly worms/caterpillars/cocoons/eggs tot’s came up with so many ideas!
Lastly we traced our numbers helping the bugs count 1-10 worksheet and waved our wings like butterflies to activities for play time, later at snack we called our snack different bugs such as “lady bugs” for strawberries “grasshoppers” for cucumbers 🥒 then for craft the tot’s made some cool caterpillars 🐛 to wiggle home!
Bug snacks, bug catching, bug books and bug homes. What a learning experience!

One of our best themed weeks - Dinosaur week! 🦖🦕🐊
Loads of dinosaur activities at hand which the little tot’s enjoyed while they discovered and crafted. 🎨
Dinosaur bones galor, on our craft and on our plates! Watch your teeth! Oh, they’re not real it’s just a yummy dinosaur bone made snack! With pretzels, marshmallows and ooooh white chocolate which the littles called icing 🧁
We stomped and clawed and flew to each activity during playtime. 🦕
Some got creative and decided to draw up some dinosaurs. During circle teachers asked their favourite dinosaur, of course T-Rex had majority of the favourite! 🦖
And then we had cute fossil researchers checking out the fossils!
Enjoy your weekend and the sun! ☀️

Little Tots experienced an engaging week with our theme being the 5 senses. 👀👂🖐️👅👃
The week started with fine motor skill development through scissor cutting, followed by a craft activity where the children created their 5 senses bear, depicting various sensory experiences. 🐻
The curriculum also included 5 senses sticker and clothes pin matching activities making the children think and wonder. 💭 Furthermore, we made our own paint and our class demonstrated patience while it was being perfected for their art project. 🎨
Sandbox activities and a very special storytelling session with Kevin were also part of the week's adventures.
It indeed was a remarkable week! ⭐️✨

This week at Little tot's, we explored the theme of ocean animals, sea creatures, and other marine life. The class engaged in crafts that involved creating ocean habitats for their marine creatures, participated in singing songs about being an orange octopus, “swam” through the classroom to various activities, and read numerous books about the ocean, different fish, and octopuses. A question posed was whether the correct plural form is octopuses or octopi? 🐙
We wish you a swimmingly good weekend!

🍀 St. Patrick’s Week at Little Tots! 🍀
This week we had lots of green-themed fun at Little Tots! Our tots painted beautiful rainbows with shimmery colours, each row painted with careful determination. Once they dried, we added shamrocks and clouds to turn them into cheerful hanging mobiles.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside, and inside our littles made St. Patrick’s bracelets with green and yellow “gold” beads. They also practised counting with a shamrock worksheet, as well as finding those sneaky leprechauns—spotting and circling their whereabouts.
During circle time, the group explored building with blocks and some new materials. A favourite activity was the Shake and Guess Box, where our curious little thinkers shook the box to guess what was inside.
We also danced with streamers, which brought lots of laughter and movement.
Our tots played together showing cooperation and creativity. Switching rooms for the cars and dinosaurs also made a big difference in play and excitement. Snack time was a hit, as always!
Families received handouts about nurturing early childhood mental health (birth–6 years).
🍀 Reminder: Next Tuesday is St. Patrick’s Day — don’t forget to wear green! 🍀

🚀 Space Week at Little Tots 🌎
What an out-of-this-world week we had exploring Space!
They were busy little astronauts all week long. We decorated planets with stickers, coloured our favourite planets, and even painted Earth using scrunched-up foil — which was messy and fun! 🌍
We explored space books together and practiced our scissor skills while standing up! The littles also made their very own rocket ships with their names spelled down the middle, which we had lots of fun flying around the room. 🚀
Some of our other adventures included:
✨ Tracing rocket ships and lines
✨ Decorating our tree with space attire
✨ Play-dough fun & puzzles 🧩
✨ Pretending to be astronauts
Most importantly, we practiced making friends, playing together, and sometimes enjoying our own quiet play too, because both are wonderful ways to learn.
It was a week full of creativity, imagination, and space discoveries. These tots truly took their learning to the stars! ⭐
