Mr. Beatty, Macdonald School’s Superintendent had an appointment at the Kinder Care Centre. Prognosis by Dr. Dearborn is: “nothing in his ears, high blood pressure, six needles and ten pills before bedtime, and an emergency need of oxygen”. Lab Technician Dr. Sefton determined “bugs in his rib xray, and worms in his blood samples”.

Grade 7-9 went on a beautiful valley hike by West End on Friday. The climb isn’t easy but everyone agreed it’s worth it once we made it to the top! It was a perfect way to end our week together and take in the fall colours 🍂

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Macdonald School.

Our school community came together to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Guided by the Seven Sacred Teachings, students worked together to create a Unity Pole representing respect, love, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, and truth.

We recognize that this day carries deep pain and sorrow as we honour the children, families, and communities impacted by residential schools. It is also a day to listen, learn, reflect, and move forward together with greater understanding and respect.

We finished our time together outdoors, sharing bannock, playing games, and enjoying one another’s company. 🧡

Congratulations to Carter O’Brien! She is the winner of our Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin Contest! She guessed 19 kg and the actual weight was 18.4 kg! She went home today with a Trifon’s gift card, pumpkin carving kit and a pumpkin!!!

🏐 What a way to start the season!

Our girls’ volleyball team played hard in their first game of the season and came away with a win against YRHS! 🎉 We are so proud of the effort, teamwork, and determination they showed on the court.

We’re excited to see how their skills continue to develop throughout the rest of the season!

The girls are back in action tomorrow in Stockholm at 4:30pm. Come out and cheer them on! 📣🏐

Discovery Time at Macdonald School!

Our Grade 1 & 2 students had a busy week of outdoor learning during Discovery Time!

We explored our grass area, making discoveries and using our math skills to measure what we found.

We also visited the fire pit, where we learned about safety, Mother Earth, and gratitude. Students laid to***co to give thanks for the land and sunshine before observing and drawing the vegetation around us. We’ll return each month to see how it changes with the seasons!

And we aren’t done yet… tomorrow we’re taking our learning into the kitchen to measure, observe, and enjoy making apple crisp!
