On September 29, three schools (RVS, Emerson, and Ginew) will come together to walk, share a meal, hear a message about the past and our path forward, and participate in a friendship dance. We also invite community to walk with us.

We will be meeting at the residential school monument on Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation at 11:00am. We will walk from the residential school monument to Ginew School where we will eat lunch by the canopy at the splash pad. We will then listen to a message in the field at Ginew School and listen to a story and message from Josie Hartin.

Truth and Reconciliation is about remembering, listening, learning, and building relationships together.

You don't need to have all the answers. Just come with an open heart and a willingness to listen.

If you have any questions about the walk, please contact Reggie Giesbrecht at 204-373-2624 or [email protected]

You are warmly invited to attend the upcoming Emerson School Advisory Council (ESAC) Elections Meeting!

The ESAC plays an important role in strengthening the connection between our school, families, and community. Your voice, ideas, and involvement help us work together to create a positive and supportive school experience for all of our students.

Whether you are a parent, guardian, family member, or community member, we encourage you to consider getting involved. You do not need to have previous council experience—just a willingness to contribute, collaborate, and support our school community.

We hope you will join us, learn more about the ESAC, meet other members of our school community, and consider putting your name forward for one of the available positions.

Your voice matters. Your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can continue to make Emerson School a wonderful place for our students and families!

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
