At J. Dion School every child will have the opportunities and experiences necessary to learn, think and grow into a well rounded, productive and responsible person. Beliefs

The educational process is a partnership between family, school and community. Education includes all of a child's capabilities - intellectual, physical, spiritual, social and moral. Learning is a life long activity and is a promary means of achieving ones goals. Positive-self concept and respect for others are fundamental to learning and growing. Children need to be taught early to respect their homes, families, communitiy and school and to t ake responsibility for their actions
Children have different abilities, learning styles and rates of development
Every child should have an equal opportunity regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin, color, religion, s*x or ability

Classes will still be in session. Please make arrangements to drop off and/or pick up your children. If your child will be absent due to the bus cancellation or for any other reason, please notify the school to make arrangements for alternate programming.

If you or someone you know would like to train to become a School Bus Driver, please contact the Transportation Department.

Today K/1 students went on a leaf hunt. They were focused on finding the most perfect leaves. Students learned about different shades of red, different edges, serrated or smooth and different textures, smooth, rough or shiny.

Today students learned on the land. Thank you Karen for inviting students to your gorgeous land that you provided with important life lessons.
Herb Lehr was also passing on his knowledge of moose hunting and the importance of learning about the rules of hunting. Herb is a great speaker and kept the focus of our students as he taught them precious life skills.
We walked the beautiful walking trails and students had to gather material to make a fire. Students had to use a flint to ignite their piles. They realized how hard it was and yet it was great to hear students encourage each other.
Thank you to Board Trustee, Tanya Fayant, for joining us on this much needed time to enjoy our beautiful surroundings.
Students used protocol to thank Herb and Karen for their time and teachings.

Ms.Lehr held a respectful and thoughtful Orange Shirt Day Assembly. Students watched a video of the story of Phylis Webstad who started this Memorial Day. Students collaborated and made a chain to represent the missing children as they walked in unison and listened to a comforting song sung by Randy Wood.
We would like to thank Leslie Callioux for attending and representing the FLMS council, and our supportive parents and community members. Students were reminded to take time to spend time on the land and be reflective on their day off tomorrow.
The afternoon ended on a positive note as our FRN ladies handed out much appreciated snacks to all in attendance.
