When 2020 hit, I started helping someone close to me with their self publishing project. Having grown up surrounded by authors and the small press industry, I was already familiar with a great deal. In addition to my graphic skills learned at NAIT, I had also studied copy editing at UVic, so I had plenty of related education as well.
One favour quickly turned into several, and I've now helped more than 50 books reach the market. I have helped with a wide variety of tasks for each book, varying from cover design, to editing, to formatting, to uploading. I've worked with all the major PoD websites and know their ins and outs.
Unfortunately, not everyone can afford even my very reasonable fees but they still need help. I am currently working on a project that shares my knowledge of self publishing in the hopes of helping even more people achieve their dreams.
However, those projects are still in the works. For now, I'm continuing to offer direct one-on-one advice via the great website, Simbi. Obviously I can't keep doing this forever, so contact me now if you are interested.

asked me to take photos of her amazing finger wave hairdo, so we ran over to the citadel for some photos. Sadly, it was quite late in the day so we'd missed the best light, but I still love this look and all the wonderful colour the model brings. 2013
Model: Nixie ()
— with Tiffany Cave, Stacey Ewasko though I'm afraid all these years later, I can't recall who was the hairstylist and who did makeup.

I held a little mini-contest back in November 2012, offering headshots to the first two people to respond. Phil, an old acquaintance and a constant in the local arts community, asked if he could come by with a devil puppet and a concertina. Of course I agreed! Who turns down a devil puppet? (Seriously, look at that face. SCARY.) 2012
Model: Philip Jagger (and friend)

Another lovely, light session with Kirsten Hale. Despite a rocky start to the session, the final result were some of the best bo***ir shots I've done - and this lovely headshot. So soft and warm, especially compared to my usual style. 2012
Model - Kirsten Hale
Makeup - Elizabeth Segura (now working as I believe.)

Believe it or not, this was the first image I edited on CS6! Wow, how time flies. January 2013
Melissa is a brilliant artisan who creates mainly steampunk inspired pieces. This headpiece is one of hers, though a little different than her typical stuff. Check out for more.

I do not share .grenier 's fascination with frames, but this is one frame session that I absolutely loved. The model was an ex-bodybuilder and very body aware, which allowed us to do unusual things with positioning and body tension.
I believe this was another 2008 session.

One of my favourite images I've ever shot. I prepared it with a painterly effect to imitate the look of an oil painting because dammit this is art. All these years later, Iman's eyes still catch me off guard.
I believe this was around 2008.

I really cannot over-emphasize the number of shoots has endured for me over the years. He is the epitome of a good sport. (Especially when, for the first year, I refused to post anything from this session that wasn't him goofing off.)
If you look carefully, you can see a red welt roughly where you'd expect a ni**le. That is from a paintball gun. His chest was covered in welts. 😂
This was another shoot done with .grenier, modeling chain mail made by her client, but I'm afraid I have no idea exactly when it was. 2009?

Look at this handsome weirdo! ❤ Sweet Sean came by to test out some of the new backdrops, and we had a great time doing it. 2020
So glad put a ring on it, cuz I'm looking forward to years and years of friendship to come.
