Our little stars enjoyed a fun-filled set of activities — starting with a washing germs hygiene activity to learn healthy habits, exploring senses through a calming sensory pond activity, expressing creativity with colorful nail art, and ending the day by celebrating tradition with a joyful Lohri fire activity. A perfect blend of learning, play, and celebration! ✨

Doctor visit at our program – Learning About Healthy Habit

Our children enjoyed a special visit from our community physician, who taught them about the importance of making healthy choices. The physician talked with the children about eating nutritious foods that help their bodies grow strong, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plenty of water.

She also demonstrated proper handwashing, showing the children how to scrub their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to remove germs.

In addition, the physician discussed simple hygiene practices, like covering coughs and sneezes, keeping personal items clean, and taking care of their bodies every day.

The visit was engaging and hands-on, helping children understand how healthy habits keep them feeling good and ready to learn and play.

Cow milking play experience !!
Today our little learners explored where milk really comes from! Through our pretend cow-milking activity, children practiced hand–eye coordination, built fine-motor skills, and learned about farm life, responsibility, and the journey of food from farm to table.

Construction tuff tray!!
Our tuff tray construction setup sparked big imaginations and even bigger vocabulary! Children experimented with scoops, diggers, cones, cranes, and dump trucks while developing problem-solving skills, teamwork, and early STEM thinking.

🧸 Toddlers were all about the paws and tails, exploring how dogs get their grooming baths and brushes.
🎨 Preschoolers got hands-on learning about the different grooming tools used to keep pups clean and happy.
📚 OSC kids dug into the science of dog care, understanding why grooming is vital for dogs’ health and happiness.

✨ Honoring Truth and Reconciliation Day at Southport Daycare✨
Today, we gathered to reflect, learn, and grow together. A school teacher visited our program to read meaningful stories to the children, helping them understand the importance of this day. 📚💛 The kids participated in a variety of activities, from creating orange crafts to learning about the significance of the orange shirt. 💪🏼🌸
We’re grateful for the opportunity to educate our youngest learners about the history, while fostering compassion, empathy, and respect. 🧡
