Tutti Concert to start our year

It’s a beautiful autumn day in my our city. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend and coming to our concert tomorrow Sunday the 26th of September!

1st Suzuki Triangle Lecture at STE

As part of our concert will be commemorating a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as well as Shinichi Suzuki’s 123rd birthday. A moment to remember the Canadian past and hope for a better future filler with the talent of our kids. Featuring a Cree composer and violinist Karen Shepherd.

For Tutti Concert on the 26th of September we have an exciting project with Cree artist Karen Shepherd! She is going to compose a piece for orchestra inspired by Suzuki repertoire and traditional indigenous music. We are so excited for this! This event will be part of

Hope you’re enjoying the last warm days in Edmonton! We’re really looking forward to start lessons next week!

In April 11, 1965 – first meeting with prospective parents interested in starting Suzuki violin – 80 families attended.

July 1965 – Yoko Okie arrives in Canada from Japan. Yoko Okie is a student of Dr. Suzuki. 2 one week sessions were held at the Banff School of Fine Arts attended by 26 children and their mothers.

September 1965 – 40 students begin violin lessons with Yoko Okie in the basement of Grace Lutheran Church.

STE is offering Chamber Music Class in the 2021-2022 school year! Students will learn valuable skills of listening, exchanging ideas, communicating with music gestures, leading and following, self-confidence, musicality and musical imagination.
