I wanted to share an update regarding the Eaglesham Playschool Club.

Unfortunately, due to a recent change to the Government of Alberta's Affordability Grant program for new childcare spaces, we are unable to move forward with opening at this time. This change came unexpectedly and has impacted not only our project, but many new childcare programs across the province that were in the startup process.

While this is certainly disappointing, it is not the end of our journey💛

Over the past year or so, we have invested an incredible amount of time, energy, and heart into building this vision for our community. We remain committed to increasing access to quality childcare in our region, and we believe this need is just as important today as when we first began.

For now, we will continue to monitor announcements regarding provincial funding, grants, and future childcare initiatives. We are hopeful that new opportunities may become available in the new year (around March, 2027), and when they do, we will be ready to move forward!!!

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in this project. Your patience, enthusiasm, and belief in the importance of rural childcare mean more than you know.

This isn't goodbye, rather, it's simply a pause. We look forward to sharing updates as they become available and hope to bring this vision to life when the opportunity arises.

📣Eaglesham Playschool Club – Staff Interest Form Now Open!📣

We are still in the process of developing our non-profit daycare in Eaglesham with hopes of potentially opening our doors in Fall 2026. We are now looking to connect with individuals who may be interested in working with us!

This daycare is being built by our community, for our community—and we are looking for caring, passionate individuals who want to be part of something meaningful 💛

👩‍👧‍👦 We are seeking interest from:

Full-Time Staff
Part-Time Staff
Casual/Substitute Staff

🌟 Who might be a great fit:

➡️Early Childhood Educators (Level 1, 2)

📣Eaglesham Playschool Club – Pre-Registration Now Open! 📣

We have been slowly and quietly working over this past year to progress the daycare including renovations to the space completed fall of 2025.

We are hoping to open our doors for Fall 2026. We are now looking for families to pre-register their children to help bring childcare to our community!

👦Who we are looking for👧:
Children ages 19 months to school-aged

💲 Affordable Childcare (Alberta Flat-Fee Program)
Full-Time Care (100+ hours/month): $326.25/month (~$15/day)
Part-Time Care (50–99 hours/month): $230/month

⏱️ What Counts as Full-Time vs Part-Time
Full-Time: typically 4–5 days/week
Part-Time: typically 2–3 days/week

✔ Flat-rate fees for all families
✔ Predictable and government-supported pricing
✔ Alberta is working toward further reductions in the future

📋 Why Pre-Registration Matters:
To open and operate sustainably, we require a minimum of 10 full-time registrations. Even if you are unsure, your interest helps us determine if we can move forward!

Hello friends of Eaglesham Playschool Club 👋😃

I felt it was time for a bit of an update. We have been a little silent, but that does not mean we are not silently putting in every effort to get our daycare up and going!

Our program plan has been approved in principal 🥳👏 That means that final approval will be granted once the licensing officer comes out to view our facility when we feel it is set and ready to roll.

This week, we have a program manager with the school division coming to look at the room to discuss costs, plans, and time lines for potential renovations to the room. We are hoping to expand the bathroom to accommodate a changing table station, have a door put in to access the washroom from within the room, and plumb in a sink into the space. So far, it sounds do-able from the division's end! We will learn more as we go!
To help cover the costs (which are exceptional), we are working on the Building Blocks one time Capital Grant!

Hello followers of Eaglesham Playschool Club!

We have been very busy working on getting our facility operational over the past couple of months! It really is a process, but we are getting closer and closer to the finish line😃
The program plan is nearly completed. Once confirmation comes back from a licensing officer, it should be 'Approved In Principal'. What this means is that the plan is all set and final approval will be granted once we have an officer come and visit our facility once we have it all set up.
Our next steps include completing and submitting the space creation grant to help us fund the development of our space including materials and equipment, work on our fee structure, start looking into recruiting staffing, and getting furniture, equipment, toys, etc. into our space.
The future is bright, friends, and we are getting very excited!
