🇮🇹 IL PALIO DI SIENA - A TRADITION THAT LIVES ON! 🐎

From the heart of Tuscany, a glimpse of one of Italy’s most extraordinary traditions! ❤️🤍💚

The Palio di Siena transforms the magnificent Piazza del Campo into the stage for a centuries-old celebration of history, identity, community and tradition.

More than a horse race, the Palio represents the deep connection between Siena and its historic Contrade, preserving a tradition that continues to be passionately lived and passed from one generation to the next.

The 2026 Palio dell’Assunta, traditionally scheduled for August 16, was postponed due to rain and ultimately held on August 18, with the Contrada del Nicchio claiming victory! 🏆🐎

At Accademia dei Ragazzi, learning Italian also means discovering the traditions, places and stories that make Italy so unique. 🇮🇹

🇮🇹 A PROUD MOMENT FOR ACCADEMIA! 🏆

We are delighted to celebrate David B. who was selected as Accademia dei Ragazzi’s Grade 4-5-6 winner of the 2025-2026 contest:

📚 'L’italiano oltre i confini: adotta una parola!'

The contest was organized as part of the initiatives connected to the XXV Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo and Librissimi – Toronto Italian Book Festival, inspired by the theme “Italofonia: lingua oltre i confini.” 🇮🇹🌎

Students were challenged to 'adopt' an Italian word or expression and creatively communicate why it was meaningful to them. Submissions were evaluated on creativity and originality, effectiveness of communication, and connection to the theme.

David was officially recognized at the awards ceremony on May 3 at the Columbus Centre, where the winning projects were also displayed.

👏 Bravissimo David! And congratulations to Maestra Diana for her dedication and for inspiring our students to explore the beauty of the Italian language with creativity and passion.

At Accademia, these are the experiences we love to create: opportunities for our students to take their Italian beyond the classroom. ❤️🤍💚

You asked, and we listened! Accademia dei Ragazzi is excited to introduce a brand-new Italian Course for Adults in Toronto!

Whether you want to strengthen your Italian, reconnect with your heritage, communicate more confidently, or simply discover the beauty of the Italian language and culture, this program is for you. ❤️🤍💚

📚 10 Italian language classes
⏰ 2 hours per class – 20 hours total
📍 918 Bathurst Centre, Toronto
🕤 Saturdays | 9:30–11:30 AM

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents, this one is especially for you! Our Adult Course conveniently runs at the same time as our children's Saturday programs. While your children are learning Italian in their classrooms, you can be learning too!

Through language, culture and authentic Italian traditions, participants will strengthen their skills while enjoying an engaging and meaningful Italian experience.

🇮🇹☀️ BUON FERRAGOSTO DALL'ACCADEMIA DEI RAGAZZI! ☀️🇮🇹

Today, August 15, Italy celebrates one of the most beloved days of the summer: Ferragosto!

But do you know where this tradition comes from? 👀

🏛️ Its origins date back to Ancient Rome, when Emperor Augustus introduced the Feriae Augusti, the “rest of Augustus” as a period of celebration and relaxation after weeks of agricultural work.

⛪ Over time, August 15 also became associated with the Catholic celebration of the Assumption of Mary, giving the day an important religious significance.

🇮🇹 Today, Ferragosto is synonymous with summer, family, friends and togetherness. Across Italy, people celebrate with trips to the beach or the mountains, outdoor lunches, festivals, concerts, fireworks and, of course… plenty of delicious Italian food! 🍝🍉🏖️

For many Italians, Ferragosto represents the heart of the summer holidays and an opportunity to slow down and enjoy time with the people we love.

🇮🇹 ACCADEMIA DEI RAGAZZI IS HIRING ITALIAN TEACHERS! 📚

📍 Toronto & Vaughan | Saturday Morning Classes

Accademia dei Ragazzi is looking for Italian teachers to join our teaching team for the upcoming Fall 2026 programs.

We are seeking motivated, dynamic educators who are passionate about the Italian language and culture and enjoy working with children and youth ages 4 to 18.

📌 Requirements:
• Excellent command of the Italian language
• Experience working with children and youth
• Passion for teaching and Italian culture
• Valid work authorization in Canada
• Willingness to provide a Police Check following the interview

📅 Our Fall programs begin on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and run until December 5, 2026 (the calendar may vary depending on the location).

Joining Accademia means becoming part of an educational community that combines the Italian curriculum, best practices from the Ontario education system, and modern teaching methods and technology.
