What will the world be without STEM? From innovations in medicine and healthcare to solutions to the world hunger problem, STEM has to be the most critical discipline in all the fields of human endeavor. However, while STEM has provided answers to many past and present problems, its most essential goal is to secure the future of our planet.

Our planet today has many challenges whose impacts may not be for the present but definitely are sources of concern for the future. A good example is the issue of carbon emission and global warming. While some still think of global warming as a myth, the effects are already beginning to show up in climate changes worldwide.
But the problems are not limited to environmental issues alone; we have overpopulation, increasing cyberattacks, lack of clean water in many parts of the world, pollution, food security, and future pandemics. All of these and more are what STEM will have to provide solutions to secure the world’s future.

Do you see why you need to do your bit to advance the course of STEM? You do not have to be a scientist yourself to do this. You can start by encouraging more kids to get into STEM and provide the enabling environment for them to thrive.
