A little guide for school supplies!
Each specific teacher/grade will have their own list but here are some of the basics to get you started. 🐯🙌

As we head into a new school year, we know that back-to-school brings more than new backpacks, school supplies and schedules. It can also bring busy calendars, rising costs, new routines, big emotions and a lot of mental load for both parents and kids.
At Stephen Central Public School, we want to support the whole family as we settle into the year. Here are a few simple reminders:

🛍️ Shop smart — Check school supply lists early and look for ways to save where you can.

⏰ Reset routines — Gradually adjust bedtimes and morning routines before school begins to make those first mornings a little easier.

📚 Create a study zone — A simple, quiet, organized space can help children feel prepared and focused.

🍎 Prioritize healthy habits — Sleep, balanced meals, movement and time outdoors all help support learning and well-being.

🎯 Set goals together — Encourage children to choose realistic academic and personal goals, and celebrate their progress along the way.

⚽ Make room for fun — Sports, hobbies, friends and family time matter too! Children need opportunities to recharge and simply be kids.

📱 And don’t forget to unplug — Constant notifications and connectivity can add to everyone’s mental load. Consider creating phone-free family time, setting boundaries between work and home, and modelling healthy technology habits for our children.

Most importantly, give yourself and your children some grace. A new school year doesn’t have to start perfectly. Small steps, consistent routines and connection can go a long way. 🧡🙌 Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, S.C. Tigers 🐯

Congrats to one of our very skilled Tigers on winning 1st 🤩 in the 1000m race and 3rd in the 600m race!! She strongly represented Stephen Central P.S at the District level Track & Field today. Way to go Heidi!! Congrats on a couple of great runs!!
