EastGuard Self Defence is Built for Everyone!
I started the EastGuard Self Defence System to solve a real problem: people in our community needed affordable, practical, accessible, confidence‑building safety training that wasn’t wrapped in ego, tradition, or unrealistic martial arts expectations. EastGuard Self Defence exists because I saw a gap and stepped in to fill it with something modern, professional, and genuinely useful.
At its core, EastGuard Self Defence began because I believe three things…
✅ Everyone deserves to feel safe, not just athletes, not just martial artists, not just people who already feel confident.
✅ Most self defence training is outdated with too much focus on fighting, not enough on awareness, prevention, and real‑world decision‑making.
✅ Communities thrive when people are prepared; workplaces, youth groups, and everyday individuals benefit when they understand risk and know how to respond.
EastGuard Self Defence was built to be the opposite of the typical “martial arts dojo” experience. No belts, no rituals, no intimidation, just clear, professional instruction that helps people stay safer in the real world.
EastGuard Self Defence grew out of my own experience teaching, training, and seeing firsthand how people respond under pressure. I recognized that:
✅ People don’t need complex techniques, they need simple, reliable skills.
✅ People don’t need fear‑based training, they need calm, confidence‑based guidance.
✅ People don’t need to learn how to fight, they need to learn how to avoid, de‑escalate, and protect.
The goal wasn’t to create fighters. It was to create capable, aware, confident individuals who can navigate the world more safely.
EastGuard Self Defence’s mission is to make safety practical, teachable, and accessible. Therefore, our mission is built on three pillars:
✅ Awareness - seeing danger before it becomes danger
✅ Prevention - using behaviour and positioning to stay safe
✅ Protection - simple defensive actions anyone can learn
This is why EastGuard Self Defence resonates with workplaces, youth programs, women’s safety groups, and everyday people - it’s built for them.
