Know a kid who loves to draw? Tween Learn to Draw Camp is coming up!

For Ages 8-10, 9am-12noon Monday-Friday, August 17-21

I love teaching this camp! The kids learn, grow, and create so much in just 5 mornings. We investigate line drawing, shading methods in pencil, charcoal, and ink, and adding colour with pastel, watercolour, and coloured pencil.

Students learn techniques and vocabulary from an educated teaching artist (me! Jaye!) doing live demos and giving one-on-one suggestions, instruction, problem solving, and cheerleading!

We will be putting shapes together to make drawings, learning about shading and shadow, and learning how to work with and layer colour in a range of media. I can't wait to spend mornings with your littles!

I'm so excited to be offering half-day camps again this year for tweens! These are not simply step-by-step projects but projects designed to create independent, observational drawing and painting skills- for kids who love art and love learning about art. It's the perfect mix of real learning and creative play!

Tween Learn to Draw: July 20-24, 9am-noon
Learn line drawing and shading in pencil and charcoal, pen techniques, and ways to add colour!

Intro to Acrylic Painting: August 17-21, 9am-noon
Learn colour mixing, light and shadow, creating space, brushwork, and more!

*NEW* Tween Multi-Media Camp: August 24-28, 9am-noon
Linocut printmaking on paper and fabric, cyanotype prints, abstract painting methods, and painted paper collages.

You don't need any experience whatsoever to take this in-depth course, and in 10 short weeks, you will have 5 paintings and all the foundational knowledge to continue your painting journey. We cover the steps to completing a painting, your tools and materials, colour theory, brushwork, light and shadow, and more.

We offer professional, in-person, step-by-step instruction and mentoring, art theory, a supportive group of peers, high-quality materials, and a clean and inviting space to work.

This course only runs once annually, so start your painting journey now to join the intermediate classes this fall!
