Last week, we were chatting midseason burnout on the podcast… and it turns out it resonated with a lot of people!! Remember, your training doesn’t exist in a vacuum—life, work, family etc all adds (good and bad) stress to your overall system, and that can change how you’re feeling about training and racing!
We do it with work, home, relationships, and of course, our training: tomorrow I’ll do X. Next week, I’ll start Y. In a year, I’ll be Z… what athletic burdens are you putting in future you, and how realistic are they, really? We chat about it on the blog!

Late summer is a great time to get a plan that guides your fall training and racing.
Whether you are looking to push your limits at an event, make progress in your fitness, build strength, or sharpen your skills - a 3-Month Made-For-You Plan keeps you on track through this busy time of year and helps you avoid the common pitfalls that trip most athletes up, like training too much or too hard heading into fall.
Here is a look at the last 4 custom plans Coach Peter Glassford has built for real athletes this season:
🏃 Successful Start to Running - smart, reasonable progressions and accessory exercises to support a strong fall of running and set you up for long-term running success
🏁 Cyclocross Build and Race Season - a plan to get you dialed in before the season starts and keep you sharp and racing well right through to the final weekend
🪨 Big Sugar Gravel Build - a late season push toward one of the biggest gravel events on the calendar, with group ride integration and specific intervals designed around the demands of this challenging race
💪 Skills and Strength - taking the late summer and fall to enjoy prime trail conditions, sharpen technical skills, and get an early start on effective strength training before the winter build begins
Every plan is built specifically around your goals, your schedule, and your equipment - not a template, not a guess.

It may seem like people who ride are having more heart issues… but it could also be that they’re just catching heart issues because they actually notice the symptoms! This week on the pod we brought in a cardiologist to talk through what he’s seeing and why it matters.

We’ve been wanting to get a cardiologist on the pod for a while because heart issues are a topic that come up occasionally enough to be alarming for masters cyclists, and in this episode, Dr Nigel Stephens helps break down when we should worry and why riding is likely not as risky as you might think.

If you’re on an adventure trip or doing a stage race, little things can be a big help. It’s funny how a small piece of gear can be the difference between having a really enjoyable race day versus a total $hitshow of a race day and on the blog, we list a few faves (and they are all dachshund approved, obviously.)
