Saying goodbye to fall, and hello to winter 🌞☁️⛅🌧🌨❄☃️
Little Cabineers Inc. is on the hunt for one last amazing caregiver for our changes coming up! We have a 10 month position available for a Certified Infant Toddler Educator, starting December 2021 or January 2022. If you have your certification, and might be interested in a short term position, this might be right for you. It’s also possible this position could become permanent, should this be something you prefer.
Come join our team! We pride ourselves on having a positive, friendly, communicative, and open staff culture.
Our staff have the freedom and flexibility to run their program as they wish. We offer a play-based program, focusing on outdoor play, risky play, fewer plastics, and trying for more loose parts.
Our outdoor play-spaces in both the IT and 3-5 program are a dream space to work in!
Staff members receive a competitive wage (plus $4/hour wage enhancement), benefits, and can choose to work 36 hours/week across 4 days, or work 5 days/week. This is flexible, and can be discussed when we meet. We will hold a space for your child at the center, either in the Infant program, or the 3-5 program.
We are located in Coldstream (Lavington) just 10 minutes from Vernon.

Have you ever thought about working with children in a childcare setting? But not sure where to start? Are you looking to enter the field on a casual basis? We had such great success with our last hire in this manner, she’s moving into a fulltime position at the end of her contract! We’d like to welcome a new caregiver to our team, and offer to pay for your formal training! You’ll end up with certification and a license to work in childcare, with a one year casual contract with us and a minimum of 9 hours per week, and a space available for your child. The training is done online, and can be done in just a couple weeks, with your position starting this Dec/Jan. Please message me here on messenger, or email: [email protected] for further information, or to let us know if you might be interested. We’re located in Lavington, and look forward to meeting you. We appreciate our outdoor space incredibly, and are so fortunate to be able to offer the many benefits of outdoor play to our littles!
One of which:
~ Executive function. These are the skills that help us plan, prioritize, troubleshoot, negotiate, and multitask; they are crucial for our success. Creativity falls in here, too, and using our imagination to problem-solve and entertain ourselves. These are skills that must be learned and practiced — and to do this, children need unstructured time. They need time alone and with other children, and to be allowed (perhaps forced) to make up their own games, figure things out, and amuse themselves. Being outside gives them opportunities to practice these important life skills ~
