A Repurpose Project

A Repurpose Project A Repurpose Project takes vintage, often forgotten objects and turns them into something creative and useful. See "About" for more details. Cheers, Sally

Portion of proceeds to Food For Thought, Northumberland. TEA TIME: My mornings are slow. I like to have a cup or two of tea- cream of Earl Grey is my favourite- catch up on the world and watch the day break over my garden. I love to watch the changing colours and how the shadows play. And the birds: that first robin of the spring, black-capped chickadees, mourning doves, cardinals and the surprise of a hummingbird at the height of the summer! I see my morning tea as the birds’ teatime, as they search out a meal of grubs, seed or fat worms from our vegetable patch. This gave me food for thought. As a teacher, I am always saddened by the children who come to school on an empty stomach, whether because of a rushed morning or an empty pantry. I decided to combine my love of tea, bird-gazing and creating beautiful things to help tackle hunger in our schools. I am repurposing forgotten teacups into bird feeders, and donating a portion of the proceeds to Food for Thought, the Northumberland chapter, in support of their school breakfast program.. For every birdfeeder sold, Food for Thought will be able to provide two breakfasts to hungry students. Donations are welcomed! Every cup and saucer donated provides an additional breakfast. Please message me if you would like to make a donation. China, hanging bird feeders are $20
Wooden baluster and china, garden bird feeders with metal foot are $35

If you would like to purchase a bird feeder shown here please private message me to arrange a pick up time. I hope to be at the Cobourg Farmers Market for select dates throughout the summer.
