Shortly before 6pm this evening firefighters from Coalhurst along with their mutual aid partners Picture Butte Emergency Services and Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to the river valley area for a person who was stuck in the mud and beginning to sink further. 911 dispatchers stayed on the line with the caller and were able to assist Crews to quickly locate him. Members were able to dig him out and with the assistance of the UTV he was taken up to be assessed by EMS. We would like to remind everyone that while the river levels are down and the sun is shining there is still a real danger down there.

One of our own left to assist with the wildfires up north. When these calls come in they have to commit to a minimum of 7 days away from work, home and their families.

Our first wildfire deployment crew of 2026 has headed north to assist with the wildfire response near Rocky Mountain House.

Firefighters from Stations 21 (Carmangay), 27 (Vulcan), and Coalhurst Volunteer Fire Department deployed today and will be supporting operations in the area over the coming days.

While they’re helping up north, crews at home have things covered down here. We wish everyone a safe deployment. 🚒🔥

Yesterday one of our own left to assist with the wild fires up north. When the calls come for assistance our crews have to commit for 7 days away from home, work and their families.

Firefighters are on scene of a bail fire in the county. Currently the fire is contained and there is no further danger with the strong winds we are experiencing. Big thanks to our mutual aid partners Picture Butte Emergency Services and Coaldale & District Emergency Services for assisting in this.
