Little Wise Owls Outdoor Learning

Chestnut painting brought a little autumn creativity to our forest day. We explored the colours and textures of fall, noticed the changes happening around us, and enjoyed making art with a natural material.

Learning in the forest gives children so many ways to create, explore, and connect with the season.

Looking for something a little different for your child?

At Little Wise Owls Outdoor Learning, the forest is our classroom.

Our days are filled with muddy boots, climbing trees, exploring creeks, using real tools, discovering bugs and wildlife, creating with nature, building confidence, making friendships, and learning through hands-on experiences.

We believe children need time and space to move their bodies, take healthy risks, ask questions, get messy, explore, and simply be children.

We currently have a few spaces available in select Preschool Forest School classes for children ages 3–5 in:

Fairfield Island – Mondays
Rotary/Sardis – Tuesdays & Thursdays
Yarrow – Wednesdays

Morning and afternoon options may be available depending on the location.

Not sure if forest school is the right fit? Come check us out! We would be happy to arrange a visit or talk with you about our program.

**Spaces are limited — reach out today to learn more or secure a spot for your child

Today we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

At Little Wise Owls, we believe there is so much we can learn from the land, from one another, and from the stories that came before us.

Today is a day to slow down, listen, learn, and reflect together. It is an opportunity to honour Indigenous children, families, and communities and to continue teaching our children the importance of kindness, respect, belonging, and caring for one another.

As a forest community, we are grateful for the opportunity to learn, play, and grow together on the land.

Little Wise Owls is closed today in recognition of this important day.

Every Child Matters.

Pouring rain didn’t stop us! We headed to the splash park to put our rain gear to the test and had a wonderful time playing in the water. These are forest school kids!

Apple Week at Little Wise Owls

This week, we’re exploring all things apples! We’ll learn about the parts of an apple and its life cycle, enjoy a reading of The Apple Pie Tree, and practise peeling an apple with our special apple peeler.

We’ll also taste apple juice, enjoy apple rings with cinnamon, and make apple pie in a mug. We’re looking forward to a week full of hands-on learning and delicious apple treats!
