My name is Rose and I am the owner and instructor at the Dreaming Heart Art Studio. I offer a variety of beginner-friendly art classes for children and adults that are designed to encourage self-expression, spark the imagination, and grow a whole lot of creative self-love! With gently-guided instruction and a focus on enjoying the creative process, Dreaming Heart classes are not technical in nature; but rather provide opportunities to play, explore, experiment, and express oneself through art-making. I offer art classes at my home-based studio in Chesterville, Ontario:

Could this be a more beautiful day?! 🍂

I did a little gardening this morning and then baked my youngest son, Isaac, his favourite dessert, pumpkin pie.

I call him “Pumpkin Pie-saac.” 😂🥧

(Funnily enough, my eldest son’s name is Jacob and his fave dessert is cheesecake, so I call him “Cheese-Jake!” 😆🍰)

Isaac and I are heading to the fall fair at Upper Canada Village tomorrow for a mom-son date, and we needed something sweet for our picnic!

The rest of today, I think I’ll do a little lesson planning for my upcoming youth art classes. The winter term of Mixed Media Mash is officially a go and is open for registration! 🎨

I’m really looking forward to offering classes again after a long hiatus, and I’ve been busy brainstorming activities and ordering fun art supplies! 🥰

Here’s to fall… a season of preparing, harvesting, creating, connecting, and resting. To open windows, tea steeping, muffins fresh out of the oven (and begging to be smothered in butter), a dear puppy dozing blissfully in the sun, and a studio calling my name…

Proud mom, over here!

My youngest son, Isaac, has built a really comprehensive and thoughtful tutoring program for elementary, high school, and first year Uni students… all while going to school for his second year of Engineering at Carleton and working a part-time job as a Fitness Coach. 🤯

(Plus he’s so cute! 🥰🧢)

He didn’t get his love of math and science from me, but he sure has the entrepreneurial bug! 🐞

If you have a student looking for tutoring support, Isaac is a great choice! He’s kind, gentle, and oh-so clever.

Mixed Media Mash:

Enjoy a happy mix of drawing, painting, & clay play.

• Explore drawing subjects, styles, and techniques while developing your own one-of-a-kind drawing style!

• Experiment with expressive brushwork, colour, texture, and layering through a variety of fun painting activities!
