A Zendala inspired by Project Pack #26, day 2!
I used Pigma Microns 02 & 12, graphite, white charcoal, and a trio of paintstones from Beam Paints.
These are Memmemgwanh Waaskoneh'aande (milkweed), Giizhgaande (sky colour), and Zhiibiigeh'Aazhibik (slate). They were random colours in an order of their Perfect Imperfects. As you can see, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of them! I highly recommend them.

What happens when you sign up for an art exchange during Pride month?
You do a hell of a lot of tangling, that's what! π Four of these tiles are headed out the door to my exchange buddies.
There's a whole bunch of different techniques on display here, including tranZending, maptangling, and embedded letters.

Several CZTs have come together to offer a collection of classes to raise money for Africa Youth Rising. For a minimum donation of $100, you get lifetime access to all of them! The classes will be released (aka "go live") on 15 February.
Let's tangle together and do some good!

Welcome to autumn, tanglers! It's Labour Day weekend in North America, and that means everyone's back to school (if they weren't already!), the return of apple cider and pumpkin spice, and the start of two Zentangle challenges/prompt events!
Autangle starts on 1 September, and is hosted by two lovely Indian CZTs. Prompts will be released every second day through the FB group. This challenge is in its third year, and it will be my first time participating! :D

Inktober Tangles begins on 1 October, and is, of course, the Zentangle version of Inktober. It was created by CZT Stephanie Jennifer of Everything Is Art and is in its sixth year. The prompts have already been released for folks to have plenty of time to prep, should they so choose! (Find the details here: http://www.everythingis-art.com/2024/08/inktober-tangles-2024-official-list.html ) The related FB group is 7F5R Challenge, and you'll also find the other challenges/prompts hosted by the 7F5R group of international CZTs there!

One of the wonderful things about the Zentangle community is how we will come together, especially as it comes to helping others attend CZT training. Scholarships are offered for North American, European, and Asian CZT seminars, helping folks attend the training and bring the Zentangle Method back to their communities.
Conzentric is the European partner organisation, and recently held a fundraising workshop for CZT-EU8, which was taught by Zen Linea. This morning I was able to watch the recording of the video, and this is my tile!
Anica is a wonderful teacher, and I encourage you all to check out her classes.
Please check the Conzentric website if you'd like to donate to the fundraiser and receive access to the recording.

My first grey tile! π₯° I'm too excited to share it to wait until tomorrow when the light with be better. lol
I tangled along with a video from Japanese CZT Yuko Takamasu titled "3D gray tile." No, I don't speak Japanese, but I do speak Zentangle and that's pretty universal! π

I trace tiles in my sketchbooks from time to time. This was one such unfinished 'tile' with a partial version of Ratoon and some ZenGems that I started last week. Tonight I finished it off with GlacΓ© and shaded it. :)
I love using my sketchbooks for things like this because the cold press watercolour paper is excellent for tangling, and the half-letter (~A5) pages give plenty of space to test colour blending and make notes while still being a good size to turn and turn and turn like a tile!

A few monotangle bookmarks I worked on last night. π (The leftmost one has yet to be shaded.) These are part of my exploration of tangles from other CZTs, as well as continuing to find combinations of tools I enjoy working with.

A mosaic of the first ten days of from Zentangle! I've chosen to do this year with black tiles, though I'm going my own way a little bit and using more white gel pen than the coloured ones that came in the kit. ;) I've also use metallic gold on a couple tiles.
Remember, you can participate in this series at any time as all the videos are on the Zentangle YouTube channel, as well as linked on Zentangle's Bijou's Be Well Series 2024 page (
