Poplar cleaning time. Today, we cleaned 140 gms of Poplar seed for a project in Southern Alberta.
We estimate 2000 seed per gram....oh yeah!!

The Aspen ( Populus tremuloides) are blooming! These are the male catkins, similar to p***y willows- the first pollen producers of spring - just as our native bees come out of hibernation. Plant more willows and Aspens, please the bees!!
