Feeling grateful, calm, and stretched out after postnatal yoga at Atlas Yoga Studio & School

Violet seemed to be glad to be back and was very comfortable to be back in our Yoga space.

Atlas has such a great feel to it as soon as you walk in, the natural sunlight coming in through the gauzy white curtains, the gorgeous wood floors and tall tall ceiling make for a light and airy space that manages to also be very cozy.

Postnatal yoga is every Wednesday at 1030 am, Vioelt and I will be here every week 😀

🩶"My body is a reservoir of endless energy, and I tap into its limitless potential each day." 🩶

our bodies are not just vessels; they are dynamic systems of energy. 🌊

when we say "my body is a reservoir of endless energy," we aren’t talking about the frantic "caffeine-fuelled" energy of a busy workday. we are talking about prana—the foundational life force that sustains us even when we are still.

how to tap into your reservoir today:

notice the breath: it is one way to access the nervous system.

soften the bracing: where are you holding tension? let it go to allow the energy to flow.

acknowledge the source: your vitality is inherent, not earned.

tap the 🩶 if you needed this reminder to reconnect today.

📸 Flash back Friday

Another photo from this shoot at Trews Falls - up above Spencer's Gorge

⚡️Flashback to one of my favourite moments of finding stillness. 🧘‍♂️✨ There is something about the rush of the river and the grounding presence of a cookie-loving icon that reminds me not to take my practice—or myself—too seriously.

Yoga is about meeting me exactly where I am, whether that’s in a formal studio or seated in a cold stream wearing a Cookie Monster tee.

Still makes me smile :-)

"Why don't you take photos 📷️ during class?"

It's a question we hear from time to time.

🖼️ The truth is, our classes are designed to be a refuge from the constant pressure to document, perform, and share.

🖼️ Yoga philosophy teaches us to turn our attention inward. Through practices like Ahimsa (non-harming) and Svadhyaya (self-study), we create an environment where students can explore their practice without worrying about how they look, who might see them, or whether they're doing it "right."

🖼️ Some students arrive carrying stress. Some are working through grief. Some are rebuilding strength. Some are simply seeking a quiet hour in their week.

🖼️ We believe those experiences deserve privacy, respect, and presence.

🖼️ While we occasionally capture moments before or after class, or during special events with consent, our regular classes remain camera-free by design.

🖼️ Because not everything meaningful needs to become content.

🖼️ Sometimes the most important thing is simply being here.

🖼️ Have you ever experienced a moment that was too meaningful to photograph? We'd love to hear about it below.

🌺Nurturing the Postpartum Journey: Mom and Baby Yoga🌺

The first few months of parenthood are a period of profound transition. At eight weeks postpartum, your body and mind are often ready for a gentle, intentional return to movement that honours the recovery process while fostering a deep connection with your little one.

🌺Sharing Space and Connection🌺
Starting next week, our mom and baby yoga sessions provide a supportive environment designed specifically for this delicate phase. These classes are not just about physical movement; they are a sanctuary to share space with other parents, move with intention, and centre your well-being alongside your baby.

🌺Gentle Recovery and Bonding🌺
Our curriculum focuses on restorative somatic practices that address the unique needs of the postpartum body. We prioritize:

💛Core and Pelvic Floor Support: Gentle engagement to aid in functional recovery.

💛Relieving Tension: Targeted stretches to release tightness in the neck, shoulders, and back.

💛Mindful Presence: Techniques to help you stay grounded and calm amidst the demands of new parenthood.

These sessions are relaxed and inclusive—babies are welcome to cry, sleep, or feed as needed. We look forward to sharing space with you and answering your questions as you navigate this beautiful new chapter.

Hello everyone, I am going to record a few classes in the studio over the next 5 week. I am thinking Tuesday afternoons at 12:30pm - if anyone is interested in taking these classes, the focus will be on somatic embodied cueing for yoga teachers and the classes will vary in pace and style. If you would like to take these classes you must be comfortable being in front of the camera. Let me know here or email me or drop a DM in our slack community if you are already on the "inside" of our community.
