Did you know Monarch butterflies travel more than 4,000 km from Ontario to their overwintering grounds in the mountains of central Mexico?

Join us for a weekend dedicated to this remarkable migration, with activities that help you learn more about Monarchs and how you can support them.

Monarch Butterfly Releases take place at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm each day. Gather outside and watch as Monarchs take flight and begin their migration south. Releases are weather permitting.

There’s more happening throughout the weekend:

🎨 Monarch-themed crafts & colouring
🧡 Monarch migration and conservation information
🌱 Complimentary Common Milkweed seeds to take home and plant for Monarchs*

It’s not because of pigment… it’s an optical illusion! Tiny microscopic scales on its wings reflect light in just the right way to create that dazzling blue shimmer. When the butterfly lands, the color seems to vanish, that’s the brown underside showing its camouflage side.
