Daigakusai Event Reminders & Updates
With our event coming up this Saturday, we wanted to give some quick reminders and updates to ensure the event goes smoothly!

Firstly, we would like to clarify that Daigakusai IS NOT A CONVENTION. This will be our 7th Daigakusai since 2016 and the event has always aimed to connect university students and other like-minded individuals from the lower mainland anime club community, fostering a welcoming environment with our various activities. At the end of the day, Daigakusai is a university club event made for students by students (THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANNOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE NOT A STUDENT). Additionally, to comply with BCIT regulations, entry will only be admitted to attendees that have RSVP'ed, and BCIT does not allow any outside drinks to be permitted within the event. Water fountains will be accessible near the event venue.

As we will be featuring a Cosplay Contest at our event, please remember that cosplay is not consent! Please treat others how you would like to be treated. We will not tolerate any inappropriate behavior and will remove attendees from the event should any issues arise.

Alongside a huge prize pool from our sponsors Nimbasa Entertainment and Sakura Media, we're excited to announce that we'll be giving away a Pop-Up Parade Houshou Marine figure as our grand prize! We've also partnered with CHQ, a local arcade at Metrotown, to feature Chunithum and DDR at the event, alongside SDVX and Groove Coaster! Doors open at 2PM, and we can't wait to see you at BCIT this Saturday!

The time has come! It's time for us to finally host an event!

In conjunction with the anime clubs of UBC and SFU, we present Daigakusai (大学祭)!

Long time members may recognize this name from years past, as we've hosted this event prior to COVID.

Daigakusai hopes to bring together anime fans from different clubs together to celebrate our interests together!
The event will take place on June 17th from 14:00-22:00, at the Great Hall of BCIT at SE02, with entry being free.
It will include many activities such as:
🎨 An Artist Alley: featuring some of the clubs' amazing club artists, check out their incredible work!

🍣 Food at a low price!: who doesn't love food at a low price, purchase a food ticket for $5 and take your pick from pizza, sushi, veggie platters, drinks, and more!

🎮Games, games, and more games: get to know your fellow weebs through some awesome games and activities that'll be running throughout the entire event such as Karaoke, Video Game Tournaments (Guilty Gear, Mario Kart, Jackbox), trivia games, and more!

🎟️ Free Raffles: Participate in our prize draw for a chance to win some amazing prizes donated by our generous sponsors!

Yahallo! It's time for our second movie night outing! This time we'll be watching Suzume together with both SFUAni and UBCAni!

Your favorite University Anime Clubs have reunited for another Daigakusai! This year, we're celebrating the Leap Year with a Time Travel themed event, so come join us on Saturday, February 29th, at BCIT SE 2, from 2PM to 10PM as we travel back in time and reminisce on the last several decades of anime. We'll have various games and activities to test your boomer knowledge in anime, as well as a chance to win some amazing prizes!

Cosplay is encouraged, and you do not need to be a student from any of these schools to attend, so bring a friend! This event is brought to you by the UBC, BCIT, and SFU Anime Clubs!

We will have a $5.00 opt-in fee for food if you are interested!
