What is it about the unknown that draws us in?

A new challenge.
A blank page.
An unexpected question.
A speech we have not yet given.

This week at Bridgewater Toastmasters, our meeting theme is The Appeal of the Unknown.

Join us for an evening of speeches, table topics, feedback, and friendly support as we explore the mystery, possibility, and growth that come from stepping into something new.

Guests are always welcome. Come see what Toastmasters is all about.

Two dynamic speakers. One great meeting.

At Bridgewater Toastmasters, we don’t just talk about becoming better speakers. We practise, stretch, laugh, learn, and cheer each other on every step of the way.

A big congratulations to two of our members who stepped up and delivered speeches at a recent meeting. Every speech is a chance to build confidence, sharpen a message, and own the moment.

Curious about Toastmasters? Come visit us. You don’t have to be polished. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to try.

Join us at Bridgewater Toastmasters and see what happens when supportive people help each other grow.

PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION

That is our theme for this week’s BWTM meeting, and it is a good reminder for anyone working on their communication skills.

You do not have to be polished to begin. You do not have to be fearless to speak. You do not have to be perfect to make progress.

At Toastmasters, every meeting gives us a chance to practise, learn, laugh, support one another, and become a little more confident than we were before.

Join us at the NSCC tomorrow, Thursday, May 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Guests are always welcome.

Wow. Just wow!

Stephanie Mailman-Crouse, our very own member, was invited to take the stage at the recent Spark Conference for Healthcare Administrative Professionals.

She shared how administrative and operational professionals help power healthcare from the inside by shaping safety, quality, and system reliability in ways that often go unseen.

Drawing on her work in medical device reprocessing and her perspective as a patient advocate, she focused on making invisible work visible, using data to improve efficiency without adding burden, and building psychological safety and Just Culture into everyday operations.

As she put it, "The first safety checkpoint in healthcare often happens at a desk, not a bedside."

Congrats Stephanie. We are proud of you and celebrate your success as you put your Toastmasters International training to work.

Every meeting gives us a chance to step forward, try something new, and grow our confidence one moment at a time. Whether you are speaking, taking on a role, answering a Table Topics question, or cheering others on, there is always an opportunity to own the moment.

Join us tonight from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the NSCC (75 High Street, Bridgewater).

Guests are always welcome.

Come see how Toastmasters can help you build confidence, improve your speaking skills, and connect with a supportive group of people.

Growth rarely feels dramatic in the moment. It’s built one meeting, one speech, one attempt at a time.

Tomorrow’s Toastmasters meeting is all about Trust the Process. Whether you’re polishing your skills or just getting started, every step forward counts. Show up, take part, and let the process do its work.

Guests are always welcome.

Thursday, April 30th, 6:00pm at the NSCC on High Street in Bridgewater.

What an amazing opportunity to get together with Toastmasters across your District at the annual conference. Looking forward to the District 45 Toastmasters conference on May 22-24, 2026, in Halifax.

Six of our D60 Advanced Speakers members spent the weekend at the District 60 Conference in Toronto, learning, competing, and connecting with some of the best speakers in the district.

This is what growth looks like. Showing up, stretching your skills, and surrounding yourself with people who take speaking seriously and still know how to enjoy the journey.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve outgrown the basics and want a space where you can refine your craft, get meaningful feedback, and challenge yourself alongside experienced speakers, this is exactly what our club is about.

We meet twice a month, with both in-person and online options, and we’re always happy to welcome guests who are ready to take the next step.

Curious? Come see what it’s like.

There’s something special about an Ice Breaker speech.

It takes courage to stand up, share your story, and let others see a bit of who you are. That’s exactly what one of our newest members did at a recent meeting, taking that important first step on their Toastmasters journey.

These moments matter. When we learn about each other’s experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives, we build real connections. Not surface-level conversations, but the kind that make a group stronger, more supportive, and more meaningful to be part of.

Every great speaker starts here. Not perfect, just willing to begin.

Well done Graidy, and welcome to the journey.
