What is Chaharshanbe Suri?
Chaharshanbe Suri is an ancient Iranian fire festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday of the year. It is the beginning of the Nowruz celebrations.
By tradition, people generally set 3, 5, or 7 bonfires and jump over them 3 times at dusk. As you jump over the flames you are to say "sorkhi-ye to az man, zardi-ye man az to". Translated to "[let] your redness [be] mine, my paleness yours". We are asking the fire to take away our sickness & weakness and asking for good health & happiness.
Happy Chaharshanbe Suri to everyone! May the fire represent our ongoing fight for liberation and freedom. Jin, Jiyan, Azadi. To women, life, freedom. ❤️

Tonight is Shabe Yaldā, Shabe Chelleh, Sewi Yelda and Seva Zistane also known as the Winter Solstice celebrating the longest night of the year.
This tradition has been celebrated for thousands of years by many distinct indigenous cultures from the SouthWest and Central Asia region.
We’re sending love and solidarity to all of our communities grieving the ongoing atrocities of the Islamic Republic. May we continue fighting for liberation for our Kurdish, Baloch, Iranian and other kin. For women, life, freedom — Jin, Jiyan, Azadi.

Repost from ***rsphere
This Pride Month and Indigenous History Month we ask folks to reflect on what it means to decolonize Pride.
This post shares just a few examples for what beginning to decolonize Pride can look like. Decolonization is not a metaphor, but a call to action 🌈
