Every beam in this building has a name on it. Not literally, but you know what we mean. 🎶

It belongs to the child who’ll play their very first note here.
It belongs to the teenager who’ll find their voice in a room that finally fits them.
It belongs to the families who’ll gather, learn and grow together.
And it belongs to our seniors, whose voices have carried this community for years.

For more than a decade, Zamar Music has been building something bigger than lessons. We’ve built a place where music heals, connects and brings every generation into the same room. Now that place is getting a home of its own.

Welcome to 50 Van Kirk Drive, Unit 9 in Brampton. It’s 3,000 sq. ft. and a brand new second floor, rising joist by joist. 🏗️

This is Project Encore, and it’s happening because this community refused to let it stop. We’re grateful to everyone who pushed, advocated, gave and believed.

đź“… Save the date: we open our doors THIS FALL.
👀 Follow along as we get closer. You won’t want to miss what’s next.

We’re finally stepping into our future.

We’re proud to announce that the permit for our new Zamar Music community hub has officially been released.

What began as a vision is now becoming a reality — a space built for music, creativity, wellness, and community.

While the road toward development charge relief is far from over, there are still important delegations ahead with the Region of Peel and the Peel District School Board. Our Executive Director, Corey Butler, will continue advocating for this relief as we move forward.

To everyone who has believed in us and stood beside us throughout this journey — thank you. This next chapter is only just beginning.

Something new is taking shape.

A new space. A new chapter. A legacy built together.

150 families. One legacy.

Stay tuned.

Every big dream is built one milestone at a time.
At our Spring Student Showcase, we had the privilege of sharing some exciting news with our community:
We’ve secured 75% of the funding needed for our capital project.
What started as a vision is becoming a reality—one that will allow us to serve more students, families, artists, and community members for years to come.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked this journey with us. The finish line is in sight.

We’re proud to recognize the Peel Region for their support of Zamar Music. Their partnership plays an important role in helping us create performances that celebrate culture, foster connection, and unite communities through music. Together, we’re continuing to build a stronger community through the power of music. 🎶

🎵🩺 Music x Health Friday

Did you know that playing an instrument might be good for your heart? đź’™

A study conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School found that adults who regularly played a musical instrument had lower blood pressure levels than those who did not. Playing an instrument helps stimulate neural pathways involved in cardiovascular regulation, leading to improved heart health.

Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to an old favourite, making music could be another way to support your overall well being.

What instrument do you play, or what would you love to learn? Let us know in the comments! 🎶👇

Sometimes, the most powerful voices aren’t the loudest.  They’re the ones that bring people back to one another.
At our 2026 Spring Student Showcase, Aneya Coward delivered a breathtaking performance of Hear My Voice by Celeste, but her performance was more than a song.  It was a story.
The stage opened with conflict.  Harsh words.  Raised voices.  Division.  Three instructors and Aneya’s mother stood frozen in the middle of an argument after she gently tapped each of them on the shoulder.
Then, she sang.
With every lyric, Hear My Voice became a reminder that compassion can speak louder than anger.  Hope can exist even in moments of tension.  Music has the power to soften hearts in ways words sometimes cannot.
As the final note faded, Aneya touched each person once more. This time, they came back to life not in conflict, but in reconciliation.  Embracing one another in a powerful image of healing.
This is why we do what we do at Zamar.
We believe music is more than performance. It’s connection. It’s empathy. It’s healing.  A language that reminds us of our shared humanity, even when words fail.
Thank you, Aneya.  Your performance reminds us that every voice has the power to make a difference.❤️🎶

Every young musician who steps onto the stage is writing their own story, one beat at a time. We’re honored to be part of that journey.
