π° JOB SWITCHING CHANGED MY CAREER IN CANADA
Many people ask me:
"Should I stay with one company or switch jobs for better growth?"
My personal experience says that strategic switching can accelerate your career significantly.
π My Journey:
β
2021 β First field job before graduation
Salary: $47K
β
Within 1 year
Received offers around $90Kβ$100K
β
Stayed and proved my value
Negotiated a 25% increase
Salary reached approximately $130K
β
2024
Switched to a Federal Government role in the Nuclear Industry
Salary: $180K+
The lesson?
Loyalty is important, but staying in the same role for too long can sometimes limit your growth.
If you're not learning new skills, changing departments, or taking on bigger responsibilities, you may fall behind the market.
Strategic career moves can help you:
β Increase your salary faster
β Learn new skills
β Stay competitive in the job market
β Build a stronger professional network
β Understand current hiring trends
I'm not saying switch every year.
But evaluating opportunities every 2β3 years can often lead to significant career growth.
The biggest risk is becoming too comfortable.
Many professionals stay in one role for 5β7 years and then struggle when they need to find a new job because the market has changed.
Keep learning.
Keep growing.
Keep evaluating your options.
Your career should move forward, not stay stagnant. π

π¨π¦ STOP GUESSING YOUR CRS SCORE. START PLANNING IT.
One of the biggest mistakes international students and newcomers make is not knowing their CRS score.
When I ask candidates:
β What's your CRS score with 1 year of Canadian experience?
β What will your CRS be after 2 years?
β How many points can you gain by improving your IELTS?
Many don't know the answer.
But this is something you should calculate and track regularly.
A smart PR strategy starts with understanding:
β Your current CRS score
β Your score after 1 year of CEC experience
β Your score after 2 years of experience
β Your score after 3 years of experience
β The impact of improving your IELTS
Many candidates focus on difficult pathways without first checking whether a small improvement in IELTS or additional work experience could significantly increase their CRS score.
π Sometimes moving from CLB 8 to CLB 9 can create a major difference in points.
π Sometimes one additional year of Canadian experience can completely change your eligibility.
The goal is not to chase every immigration trend.
The goal is to understand your own profile and create a realistic plan.
Before making major career or immigration decisions, ask yourself:
β
What is my current CRS score?
β
What will it be after one year?
β
What can I realistically achieve in IELTS?
β
How much can my score improve with additional experience?
The candidates who plan early usually make better career and immigration decisions.
Do your homework.
Know your numbers.
Build your strategy early. π
