Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Reliance came to do a presentation for all of our HVAC students, from G3, to about to graduate. We had approximately 50 in attendance and graduating students were encouraged to bring their resumes for consideration.

Thank you to Chris Charland and Mark Gawlikowski for taking the time to show our students potential career paths with Reliance, answer endless questions (lol) and take resumes. I believe the event was a big success, and several resumes have already been streamlined for upcoming opportunities!

There are photos from the presentation itself, the HVAC shop tour with one of our instructors, Jason, and photos of students actually getting time in front of decision makers to make themselves known and get resumes into the right hands.

Learning doesn’t have to stop at the curriculum.

Current Cabinetmaking student J. Winlaw has been exploring the traditional Japanese woodworking technique of Kumiko — creating intricate geometric patterns from precisely cut and fitted pieces of wood.

Kumiko isn’t part of our formal Cabinetmaking curriculum. J. wanted to learn it, so instructor Alex took the time to help her explore the technique and build on the skills she’s already developing in the program.

Because sometimes the best learning starts with a student saying, “Can you show me how to do this?”

Hands-On Learning That Builds a Stronger Future.

NATS students recently had the opportunity to help Royal Canadian Legion Branch #317 in London by putting their skills to work painting and refreshing the facility.

Projects like this give our students valuable real-world experience outside the classroom while helping an important organization in our community. Every project builds confidence, strengthens practical skills, and helps prepare our students for the workplaces and opportunities they’ll encounter after graduation.

A great experience for our students — and a great way to give back to the London community!
