In case you’re wondering how it’s going over here 🤣
Opening .bowmanville with our family has forever changed my brain chemistry.
In such a short amount of time, the community we have been able to meet & support is truly staggering. I hope to one day be able to share all of the stories he have heard and the joy we’ve experienced.
It hasn’t been an easy road. We learned so. many. lessons. Hard ones.
HOWEVER, we are surrounded by the most incredible team of volunteers and humans. We truly wouldn’t be here without them.
There is so much goodness out there, I promise. It just takes a little bit more searching.

Ways I’m learning how to slow down so I can regulate my nervous system 😅
Let’s talk about the Autistic shower Routine 😅
Let’s talk about safe people when you are neurodivergent.
Wait…not everyone has a carefully curated shower sequence as a way force themselves to shower? 😵💫
P. S. Having a shower preference doesn’t mean someone is Autistic, but it is a very common experience for Autistic folks.
This video may be hard to watch for most men but please take this as a call IN and not a call OUT.
Here is how you can get started:
1) Acknowledge your complicity (this part sucks really hard)
2) Commit to learning and keeping your mind open
3) Listen to women & marginalized community member
4) Talk to your “boys”, even the “good” ones.
I have been s3xually assaulted many times. I have been sexually harassed more times than I could count. I have supported too many friends through recovering from r@pe.
When I tell you, I have YET to meet a woman/AFAB who hasn’t experienced SOME violence at the hands of men.
Please. We are begging you. Educate yourself. Educate your people.

Repost from 2023 but still very much a thing.
10/11/2025
This weekend, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this season truly means — the harvest, the gathering, the slowing down.
For many of us in Canada, Thanksgiving is layered. It’s a time for gratitude, yes — but also a time for awareness. A time to remember that the land we live on carries stories far older than this holiday. Stories of care, connection, and community that existed long before colonialism redefined them.
For me, this weekend isn’t about perfection or performative gratitude. It’s about honouring the Earth that continues to feed us. It’s about giving thanks for what we do have — even when life feels heavy — and noticing the abundance that shows up in small, quiet ways.
It’s also about remembering that community is powerful. That sharing meals, laughter, and rest are ancient acts of resistance and renewal.
So as we move through this weekend, I’m reflecting on:
🌾 Who do I want to share my energy with?
🌾 How do I want to move through the world?
🌾 How can I give back to the land that sustains me?
I invite you to do the same 🩷
