Blyth Repository of History The Blyth Repository of History was initiated in 1994 by Brock & Janis Vodden. We have many GB of information on three computers.

The collection includes information on over 1,200 surnames, as well as family trees, along with info about business, schools, churches and service organizations. The Repository includes hundreds of binders filled with articles, noted, facts about Blyth area people,families, buildings, events, churches, businesses,schools, news clippings, thousands of obituaries and much more. Many pictures of peop

le, buildings, events, streetscapes from various eras, family portraits. The collection includes thousands of reference cards which refer to various resources and link particular resources to others. We get many requests from both local and distant persons seeking information about Blyth and area ancestors and answers to other historical questions. Most of the time we are able to comply with more information than was requested.

James Denholm and Blan Herrington are listed as labourers on Blyth voters lists.

An interesting note is that Mr. Herrington and his wife Lillian (McConnell) are buried in Blyth Union Cemetery where their name is spelled Harrington on their tombstone.
