We hope everyone is having a lovely, restful summer. With just over a month of summer left, we wanted to share some important Back-to-School information with you. Our student funds are ready for pickup starting Monday, August 10th at NAALS. Acwsalcta student registration forms can be picked up and filled out at NAALS as well. NAALS hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday (closed for lunch from 12-1pm). Registration is open to everyone! We will welcome students back on Tuesday, September 8th for a half day. Enjoy the rest of your summer! ☀️

📢 Outdoor Learning Space Update

Yaw Smatmcuks,

We wanted to announce that Acwsalcta School has installed two electric wildlife fences around our on-campus outdoor learning spaces in preparation for the upcoming school year. These spaces are an important part of our students' learning, allowing them to connect with the land in ways they are comfortable with.

The fences will be electrified soon. Wildlife experts have advised us that the fences need to remain electrified at all times to be most effective, as wildlife quickly learns when a fence is not active.

We kindly ask everyone to please respect the fencing and equipment. Damaging or tampering with the system could prevent our students from safely accessing these valuable outdoor classrooms.

Community members are still welcome to enter through the designated gates to pick berries or visit the area. Please use the non-electrified gate access and be sure to close the gates securely behind you each time you enter or leave. Keeping the gates closed helps ensure the fence continues to do its job of keeping wildlife out.

We are grateful for the Tsow Tun Le Lum team. They are here this afternoon and tomorrow to support people who want brushings and cleansings as we have had to postpone the cedar hoop work until September. This work will take place in the Jr. Alt. Building. Please see the map below.
