Restaurant calories are different.
I know - I spent a decade as a cook/chef.
They hide.
You don't expect them.
You just taste them.... And they taste good.
And the portions? They're not standard.
The macros? .... They're not precise.
And they're definitely not designed for your health.
But you don't see them.
And that's how they get you.
Like the monster under the bed.... It's only going to get better if you shed some light on it.
The first step to solving a problem is understanding it.
Understanding what's on your plate - and going in your mouth - is important.
You don't need to count calories or track macros at every meal - but you absolutely should understand what they are and what appropriate portions look like if you want to succeed in your health and fitness goals.
Get at least a little interested in what your favourite eat-out meals are doing to your caloric balance.
Track a day, or two, or even a week.
You might be surprised at what you discover.
