Today at the library, we had a little bilingual learning moment. 📚❤️ Barrie Public Library
We went through the animals and vegetables one by one, naming everything in English and Russian. 🐸🥕🐷
I’m always amazed when people around us get excited and surprised when they realize how young children can be and still understand and speak two languages. 🥰
For children, learning more than one language can happen so naturally when they hear and use both languages in their everyday life.
It makes me so proud to watch them learn, understand, and confidently switch between the two. ❤️

How do we learn to wear socks? 🧦
Sometimes, something as simple as wearing socks can feel very uncomfortable for a child. So instead of forcing it, we can start with small steps and help the child become comfortable with different sensations.
Today we started with rubber bands — feeling the stretch, pressure and touch around the feet. This gives the child a chance to explore the sensation in a fun and playful way before moving toward socks.
One little step at a time. ❤️
We follow the child’s comfort level and build from there.
And of course, rubber bands are used only with close adult supervision and removed right away if they feel uncomfortable or too tight.

How often do you reorganize your first aid kit? 🩹❤️
Fall reorganization!
Take everything out, check what we have, check expiry dates, replace anything that was used, and put everything back where it’s easy to find.
With little ones, you never want to be searching for something when you need it! 😊
When was the last time you checked yours? 👀🩹

Rain 🌧 go away , come again another day!!!

10/02/2026

🌧️ Rainy days don't automatically mean boring days.
Sometimes rain gives us something new to notice.
The sound.
The puddles.
Wet leaves.
Drops on the windows.
The way the ground smells after rain.
Of course, safety comes first — appropriate clothing, safe surfaces and knowing when the weather is simply too much for outdoor play.
But when conditions are suitable, a little fall rain can be a wonderful invitation to explore.

🍁 The trees are doing their own artwork right now.
Red.
Yellow.
Orange.
Green.
And every day the picture changes a little.
For young children, noticing these changes supports language, observation and early science thinking.
We can talk about colours.
Compare leaves.
Count them.
Sort them.
Or simply enjoy how beautiful they are.
Learning doesn't always need a worksheet.
Sometimes we just need to look around. ❤️
