You've gotten good at looking like you have it together. Most days, you probably do. But somewhere under all that competence, you've lost track of who you actually are when no one's watching.

I work with horses who don't care about any of that. They don't know your job title, your to-do list, or how well you're managing everyone else's needs. They just respond to what's true in you, right now, in your body. And when you see that reflected back — even in the smallest shift — it's proof you have more control over your life than you think.

One of the most common questions we are asked is whether we ride the ponies in our programs.

Nope!

We work on the ground beside the ponies as team mates and so our programs are unmounted.

The reason is actually quite profound.

The ponies are tellers of truth and so they need to be free to communicate with us humans through their body language.

When we ride them, we control their responses and soon enough, their truth becomes overlayed by our humanness.

Through our programs working on the ground alongside ponies, humans learn so many skills for life such as self-confidence, problem solving, and building trust.

Every single one of us is unique and every single one of us can benefit from our programs.

Sunday is the day of rest but how do we do it?
Here are three simple ways to begin practicing rest.
1. Give yourself permission. In today’s world, busyness has become a badge of honour and resting can feel like time wasted. Not so! Getting rest is like putting money into your energy bank to carry you through the upcoming week. So, put your feet up, read a book, take a nap. You deserve it!
2. Go outdoors for some good clean nature therapy. Be mindful of the beauty that surrounds you. What do you smell? What do you see? Hear? How does the ground feel under your feet? Breathe deep and know that you are loved. ❤️
3. Be grateful. Close your eyes and recall three positive things in your life. Sometimes the beauty lies in the oftentimes overlooked spaces in between. For example, I am grateful for the realness of the ponies, for their steadiness and for gently helping me to see the truths in my life. For this I am truly grateful.

Getting rest is as necessary as breathing. Be intentional and make a promise to yourself to reserve Sundays as your day to rest. You’ll find yourself looking forward to Sundays and the beautiful rest that awaits!
