🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Grades 3–6 Cross Country

What a great day at our Cross Country Meet last Thursday! Our students represented St. Joseph so well, showing great effort, sportsmanship and encouragement throughout the day. Most importantly, they cheered each other on and celebrated one another’s accomplishments. ❤️

Way to go, St. Joseph! 👏

Across CDSBEO, teachers bring care, knowledge and dedication to their classrooms each day, supporting students in their learning and helping them grow in faith and in life.

Thank you to all CDSBEO teachers for the difference you make each day.

October 4 is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

Today, we remember those who have been lost and hold their families and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. We also recognize the strength of survivors and the ongoing calls for justice and change.

Take a moment to reflect and learn more about the Calls for Justice and the ongoing work to address this crisis.

On Wednesday, our grade 7&8 students had the opportunity to attend ‘Level Up’ in Kingston at the Slush Puppie Place.

The day was filled with hands on experiences and virtual simulators highlighting the skilled trades. Students were able to ask questions and interact with trades professionals and colleges.

Student highlights of the day were the welding booths and bending sheet metal to create either a bull or tool box.

At the OYAP race car booth, Joel demonstrated his tire changing speed, with a record breaking time of 106.05 seconds. He secured the fastest time of the day, winning a set of Mastercraft screw drivers.

Thank you to Dan Lortie and OYAP for covering the transportation costs for this amazing experience.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day

Our students and staff wore orange to recognize Orange Shirt Day and learn about the history of residential schools in Canada. Students learned about the experiences of Indigenous children and the impact on families and communities.

Today, we take a moment to remember, reflect and honour their stories. 🧡

🍂 St. Joseph School Thanksgiving Food Drive 🍂

As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the many blessings God has given us and of our call to share those blessings with others. At this special time of year, we invite our St. Joseph Catholic School community to come together once again in support of families in our community who may be in need.

For many years, our St. Joseph families have shown incredible generosity through our school food drives, and we are grateful to continue this tradition of giving.

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place from October 1st to 8th. We are collecting non-perishable food items, with some of the most-needed items listed in the flyer. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated.

As we are reminded in the Gospel:
“For I was hungry, and you gave me food.”
~ Matthew 25:35

Thank you, St. Joseph families, for your continued kindness, generosity and support of those in our community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference this Thanksgiving.
