This week our Grade 1-3s welcomed long-time community member and Mayor of Grayson, Riley Ottenbreit, to visit their classroom. The class has been learning about all of the different aspects of community, and Riley shared some of his family history, his role as Mayor, and other information about how a village as awesome as ours runs!

Thank you for the visit, Mayor!

Yesterday for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Ms. A led the whole school through an activity comparing the funding Residential Schools received to feed the students to today's prices. With inflation, we learned that each child was funded $25 a month for food.
Students then browsed flyers to try to come up a grocery list for $25 that would last a month and they were quick to discover just how insufficient that amount really is!
