🍋 Lemon Theme Fun at Armstrong Montessori Academy! 🍋

We made delicious lemon-glazed cake pops today to wrap up our lemon theme, and the children had a blast! 🎂✨

This hands-on activity gave the children opportunities to practice Montessori skills, including following a sequence of steps, measuring and counting ingredients, strengthening fine-motor coordination, taking turns, and working independently. They also explored practical life skills such as grating, mixing, shaping, decorating, and cleaning up while building confidence and cooperation. 💛

It was a fun way to celebrate everything we learned while enjoying a sweet treat together!

✨ Our Almost 5 and 5-year-olds are becoming readers! 📚💛

At this age, we’re having so much fun exploring phonetic reading and learning phonograms—building the skills children need to decode words and become confident, independent readers.

Through hands-on Montessori activities, children are learning to:
🔤 Recognize and work with letter sounds
📖 Blend sounds together to read words
🧩 Learn phonograms and the different sounds they represent
✏️ Build early reading and writing confidence

It’s so exciting to watch those little “aha!” moments happen when a child realizes, “I can read this!” 🥰

Working with the Pink Tower, she carefully graded each cube from largest to smallest, building her understanding of size and dimension. The proud smile at the end says it all—“I did it!” 💗

From ingredients to blueberry muffins 🫐

Today our children worked together to make blueberry muffins from scratch. Measuring, pouring, cracking eggs, mixing and watching the ingredients transform into something delicious!

Taking our creativity outdoors! 🎨☀️

This week the children turned our sidewalk into their very own canvas. With paintbrushes, bright colours and lots of imagination, they were free to create, experiment and express their own ideas.
