🎒🌱 BACK TO SCHOOL with Canadian Veggie Grower! 🇨🇦❤️

Today we traded the greenhouse for the classroom and spent the day getting the next generation of gardeners growing! 🌱

From learning about soil, earthworm castings and good & bad bugs to getting their own hands dirty and planting seeds, THIS is what gardening education is all about. 🪱🐝🌱

And I had my favourite little gardening assistant right there helping me along the way. ❤️

A special thank you to for reaching out and offering to support our young growers with seeds. 🌱🇨🇦 We truly appreciate it and can't wait for what's ahead!

Growing plants is amazing. Helping kids discover how to grow their own food is even better. ❤️

🌿💧 Did you know Aloe stores water right inside those thick leaves?! 👀

Today we’re taking a gander at our Aloe growing inside our Canadian tropical greenhouse! 🇨🇦🌴 And today is an extra exciting one because Canadian Veggie Grower is heading BACK TO SCHOOL! 🎒🌱

🌴🍍🎃 DAY 88 The jungle AND garden are getting wild! 🇨🇦🌱

Tonight we’re taking a gander around everything! The tropical greenhouse continues to explode with growth, our pineapple is looking incredible, and outside our vertically grown pumpkin has now reached a 44-inch circumference and 23 inches side-to-side! 😳🎃
There’s so much happening as summer starts winding down…and we’re definitely not finished yet! 👀

❄️🇨🇦 Winter is coming… and the real question is: can we do it AGAIN? 👀🌴

Last winter, we kept our tropical greenhouse alive and growing through the Canadian cold and this pineapple is living proof. 🍍
Now the temperatures are starting to drop again, and we're getting closer to round TWO. 🌡️❄️

🌴 TWO Birds of Paradise… growing right here in Canada! 🇨🇦

Today we're taking a gander at both our White Bird of Paradise and Orange Bird of Paradise and sharing some pretty incredible facts about these tropical beauties! 🌿

One can become an absolute GIANT, while the other is famous for those incredible bird-like flowers. 😍

🌙🌴 DAY 87 Nighttime Jungle Check-In! 🇨🇦

The lights are on and our Canadian tropical jungle is looking incredible tonight! 🌿✨

From checking back in on our lemon tree 🍋 to the Dwarf Cavendish banana 🍌, begonias and everything filling in around them… there’s always something changing in here.

And of course, we had to finish with a little outdoor garden check — including that watermelon still hanging out in its sling! 🍉😂

Another beautiful summer night in the garden. 💚

❤️🌱 Afternoon harvest with my daughter!

This is one of my favourite parts of gardening, getting outside together and seeing what the garden has ready for us.

Today's harvest certainly didn't disappoint! 🥔🍅🥒🧅 And once again, the cucamelons just keep coming! 😂🌿

Growing your own food is rewarding on its own, but getting to share these experiences as a family makes it even better.

🍋🇨🇦 We’re growing LEMONS in Canada!

Our lemon tree has officially moved past the beautiful blossoms and now we have little lemons developing! 🌸➡️🍋

Growing citrus here in Canada definitely isn't something you see every day, which makes watching these little guys develop inside our tropical greenhouse that much more exciting. 🌴🌿

Now comes the big question… how many will make it all the way to harvest? 👀🍋

🌙🌿 Day 86 in our Canadian tropical jungle! 🇨🇦🌴

We're ending another day with a relaxing wander around the greenhouse to see what's growing and changing.

It's amazing looking around and remembering what this space looked like when we started these nightly updates compared with what it has become now. 🌱💚

🎃 It’s orange… but is it actually ready to harvest?!

This pumpkin has gotten HUGE, and at first glance you’d think it’s ready to come off the vine. But colour is only ONE clue. 👀
Today we’re checking the rind, stem and tendril to see whether this monster is actually ready or whether patience wins again. 😂🌱
