When you make any change, including the decision to allow less screen time, it can be difficult initially until everyone adjusts. Here are some helpful tips to ease the adjustment (see chart).

Why it Matters: Excessive screen time can lead to difficulty sleeping, increase anxiety and depression, and raise physical health concerns like obesity and eye strain. It can also negatively impact development, posture, and has been linked to physical changes in the brain's cortex during adolescence. Other risks include poor eating habits and negative effects on social development.

If you’ve noticed your child becoming more irritable, impatient, or “hooked” on screens, you’re not imagining it. Screens don’t just entertain – they rewire the brain’s reward pathways.

LogOff & Colour On! Picture Voting Contest

Hey everyone! Ready to show off your family's amazing coloring skills and win a great prize? (valued at $200 including games, passes, and access to local activities)

We're kicking off our LogOff Colouring Contest! This is a fun way to celebrate screen-free family time and use the beautiful pages from your new LogOff Colouring Book.

How to Get Your Book & Enter:
1. Get Your Book: Pick up your LogOff Colouring Book at Maggie's Place or the public library in your community between November 21 and Dec 14.
o To participate, families must follow the LogOff Cumberland page and sign the Screen Free Pledge.
o Limit: There is a limited number of books available, so it's first come, first serve! Don't miss out!
2. Color: Color your favorite page from the LogOff Colouring Book.
3. Submit: Take a clear, high-quality photo of the completed page. Post the picture directly into the comments section of this post to enter the contest!
4. Vote: Ask your friends and family to come to this post and "Like" your submission! Every reaction (Like, Love, Wow) counts as one (1) vote.
The photo with the most reactions when the contest ends, December 15, 2025 at 7pm, wins the prize!

Important Rules
• Originality: Submissions must be photos of pages from the official LogOff Colouring Book.
• Voting: Only Likes (or Reactions) on the photo posted in the comments of this thread will be counted.
