When Rebecca Carey Chambers asked me to help build an event that was a culinary creation/fundraiser which would blend community kitchens with established restaurants, I jumped at the chance!! And then everybody came onboard with sheer joy!!

E.A.T.: Manotick
A taste of the WORLD 🌏 features 25 different local food businesses, all bringing their most delicious and unique flavours to support Impact Forward. A school which gives youth a unique way to learn and earn credits. Non funded but highly success filled at graduating youth with credits towards high school graduation. πŸ†πŸ₯‡

Arbor Memorial Inc. has reached out and chosen E.A.T.: Manotick to be their guest at this magnificent venue on Prince Of Wales Drive. We are thrilled. So much free parking and 100% accessibility to the event.

CHEF TOBI Oyenuga ,owner of Manotick’s Finest will be bringing a global fusion of spices and tastes and flavours. A local culinary business specializing in East Asian and West African fusion cuisine. The design blends elements representing the harmony of β€œWhere East Meets West,” featuring subtle nods to both cultures with a refined, modern aesthetic suitable for a premium catering .
Blending Japanese and Nigerian cultural representation is what Tobi loves to do , and his bites will be incredibly unique!!!

Listening to the incredibly talented ,fearless Indigenous disruptor and icon , Tanya Tagaq at the National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts

Tanya Talaga (born 1970) is a Canadian journalist and author of Anishinaabe and Polish descent. She worked as a journalist at the Toronto Star for over twenty years, covering health, education, local issues, and investigations. She is the owner of the media company Makwa Creative. She is a regular columnist with The Globe and Mail.[1] Her 2017 book Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death, and Hard Truths in a Northern City was met with acclaim, winning the 2018 RBC Taylor Prize for non-fiction and the 2017 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing.[2][3] In 2024 she published The Knowing, a retelling of Canadian History and residential schools through an Indigenous lens, beginning with the life of her great-great grandmother Annie Carpenter.[4] Talaga is the first woman of Anishinaabe descent to be named a CBC Massey Lecturer. She holds honorary doctorates from Lakehead University and from Toronto Metropolitan University.
