I’m excited to share that I am hosting a Drum Making Workshop Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, 26th , 2024 in serene Mattawa on the Kitchi Zibi (Ottawa River).

Make a drum with community Grandmother Nigik Sibi.
This weekend will include teachings, good conversations, and delicious food.

The heart of the workshop begins with a full day dedicated to building your drum.

Continuing into Sunday,, we add the finishing touches to our drums, and create
Grandmother's Arm (the tool used to create sound).
Enjoy light lunch while soaking in further wisdom and connection.

We will close off the weekend with a drumming circle..
�Limited on-site accommodations are available for an additional charge, as well as camping options.

Join us again, Saturday June 15th, for a sacred birthing ceremony for your drum. (optional)

Great day of dirt time.

I had a great weekend of tracking at Sauble Beach this past weekend with our wildlife tracking apprenticeship program students. We found some sweet tracks in the sand. Including this cool porcupine trail on this sand road. Everyone dove into this set of tracks as we got a glimpse into the life of this fascinating animal. Did you know that the porcupine is one animal that can actually recover and heal from broken leg bones without succumbing to this injury? Tracking can be similar to reading the morning newspaper, offering a glimpse into the lives of the animals that live right outside our doors.

Can anyone guess what tree this is? It’s a common tree. 🌳
