You’ve probably heard of the Entertainment and Student coupon books – they’re filled with discounts and special offers and sold as a fundraiser for schools and not-for-profit organizations. These books target large Alberta cities, with rural communities represented only by national franchises who happen to have rural locations. We think it’s time for Alberta’s rural communities to have their own o
pportunity to showcase and grow their incredible shops, restaurants and services by promoting deals for local residents and encouraging new visitors. The Rural Alberta Discount Coupons Book (RAD) will focus on rural areas of Alberta to develop a coupon book that highlights your business through discounts and special offers AND supports organizations seeking new and relevant fundraising streams. The RAD Coupons book will be sold as a fundraising effort (for a cost of $20 per book) by schools and not-for-profit groups in each community, with 50% of sales remaining with the fundraising group. It will also be available for sale online. Fundraising groups also have the opportunity to encourage businesses to purchase coupon space in the book and earn a commission on successful sales.
