San Roman R.C. School,Orange Walk District

In 1993, a Spanish priest by the name of Father Jose Lalin, who was fleeing from persecution in his country settled here. He was accepted as the parish priest of the village. At the time of his arrival a school was being constructed by Mr. He helped to complete the new school which was being constructed with limestone and cement. It wasn’t the best solid building but it replaced the old thatched roof building which was made of sticks and a wooden floor and platform. Due to the rapid increase in the student population, there was a greater demand for education. As a result, a thatched roof building was constructed be the Catholic Mission with financial aid from Jesuit Management. At the time the principal was Mr. Concepcion Tun from Concepcion, Corozal.
