Today we officially began our little backyard school garden!

We may not have much, but with a few seeds, a borrowed hoe, and a group of excited kids ready to work, we made it happen. The children jumped right in planting seeds, watering them, and working together with so much excitement and pride.

We planted cilantro and sweet corn, and now we wait patiently and hopefully for them to grow. More than just planting food, we are planting lessons of responsibility, independence, patience, teamwork, and the understanding that good things come from hard work.

With the rising cost of food, there’s something special about teaching children how to grow their own. Nothing beats a backyard garden filled with little hands, big smiles, and the hope of seeing the fruits of their labor soon 🌽🌿✨
