The Natural Resources Management Program of the University Of Belize is a structured but flexible program that provides students with a balance of theoretical and practical components through project-based field courses, providing training in marine and terrestrial natural resource management and opportunities to help serve the needs of the nation. NRM program goals:
Provide students with a strong theoretical and practical background in ecology, natural resource management and community-based conservation. Assist students to develop experience and skills in the assessment, research and management of terrestrial, coastal zone and recreational resources. Encourage professional and career development among students, exposing them to the environmental community of Belize and the region. Prepare students for advanced degree programs in the field of natural resource management. Work closely with GOB agencies, NGO's, community groups and industries involved in natural resource management, helping to address the research and service needs of the nation.
