๐ The Nowruz Festival is taking place at BSU!
This holiday marks the arrival of spring for Iranian and Turkic peoples, who traditionally celebrate it on the day of the vernal equinox.
Approximately 300 international students at BSU from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan became participants in this large-scale event.
๐ผ The festive program includes performances by artists featuring instrumental and dance acts, vocal compositions in various languages, and a fashion show of national costumes.

๐ Results of the Belarusian Republican Student Olympiad in Chinese Language Announced at BSU
In total, over 130 students from 12 Belarusian universities participated in the Olympiad.
In the first round, students completed tasks on Chinese characters, vocabulary, grammar, and translation. The second stage was organized in a conversational format covering assigned topics, discussions of video materials, and current global issues.

The competition was organized by the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology at BSU, supported by the Ministry of Education of Belarus and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Belarus.

โญ๏ธ A BSU project has received a grant from the Innovation Fund of the University Network for Research Cooperation (iUNRC, China)
The project involves a fundamentally new technology for producing activated carbon from wood waste. In terms of performance, it significantly surpasses the world's best analogs and is capable of fully ensuring import substitution.
The research project is a joint development between the BSU Research Institute for Physical Chemical Problems and the Faculty of Chemistry. The development is led by Dmitry Grinshpan, Head of the Laboratory of Cellulose Solutions and Products of their Processing.
โน๏ธ The BSU development is the only project from Belarus featured on the list of winners for the grant.

๐ The traditional Lunar New Year event was held at the BSU Institute of Additional Education
Under the guidance of their mentors, Chinese students immersed the audience in the atmosphere of New Year traditions.
๐ The students spoke about symbols that bring good luck, revealed the meaning of each day of the holiday, and introduced guests to traditional decorations. They also demonstrated the rules for writing holiday wishes and explained the unique features of New Year dishes.
The event program also included vocal performances about Chinese landscapes and the delicate peach blossoms, as well as a high-energy hit song about the symbol of the yearโthe Horse.

๐ Republican School of Sinology Opens at BSU
The plenary session was attended by Zhang Wenchuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Belarus, as well as sinology experts from leading scientific institutions in Belarus and China.
๐ Victar Kochyn, BSU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Additionally, Anatoly Tozik, Director of the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology (RCIS), outlined the goals of the scientific forum.
During the conference, issues were raised regarding the deepening of bilateral partnership amidst the transformation of the global economy, as well as the development of human and scientific potential for the implementation of joint Belarusian-Chinese projects.

The event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of RCIS and will be held as a scientific and practical conference titled "Priority Research Areas of Modern China and Belarus-China Cooperation."

Zhang Wenchuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Belarus, as well as experts in Modern Chinese Studies from leading scientific institutions of Belarus and China.
In total, the conference will bring together over 90 participants, including postgraduate and masterโs students, undergraduates, and researchers from Belarusian universities and scientific organizations.

This statistic was shared by BSU Rector Andrei Karol during a concert celebrating the Chinese Lantern Festival. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Belarus, Zhang Wenchuan, the Director of the RCIS, Anatoly Tozik, as well as BSU administration, staff, and students.

๐ท Belarusian national team, led by BSU lecturers, wins the International Tournament of Young Mathematicians
The competition has concluded recently in Tsaghkadzor (Armenia). Among the first-degree diploma and gold medal winners are Sofia Zavalyuk, Denis Zinin, and Maxim Monastyrsky, all first-year students at the BSU Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
The team was led by Boris Zadvorny, Associate Professor at the FAMCS Department of Fundamental Mathematics and Intelligent Systems. The national teamโs preparation was also supported by second-year student Igor Shmygalev and third-year students Nikita Shutro and Matvey Zorko.
๐ Teams from eight countries participated in the tournament: Belarus, Russia, Germany, India, China, Pakistan, Romania, and Thailand.
